Skytanking Calulo was formed in 2009 as a JV between Calulo Investments and Skytanking Holding GmbH, and is the first Skytanking subsidiary to operate on the African continent. Skytanking Holding GmnH brings with it international experience and credibility into the local South African aviation fuel services market.
Skytanking Calulo offers independent aviation fuel handling and storage services to the aviation sector, and is currently operating the tank storage and hydrant system at the King Shaka International Airport, offering services in connection with into-plane fueling.
The fuel facility at King Shaka International Airport was built by ACSA and comprises 6,000 cubic meters of fuel storage, 8 kilometers of underground hydrant system with 41 fueling pits, a fuel depot for into-plane operations and a road fuel station for airport vehicles. Skytanking Calulo has invested in six into-plane fuelling vehicles to fuel the 80-100 flights that are expected every day.
